Governments, and corporations have convinced us it’s up to the citizens and consumers to stop climate change while they make false promises to save our planet. They tell us that if we consume less, reduce our waste, buy ecological, and recycle, we can stop climate change. They have sent a clear message, RECYCLE or DIE.

Climate change is overwhelming, it’s not sexy, it’s a diet you are putting off until next year. But there is no next year, it’s time to fight back and force these giant institutions to solve the problems that are leading us to the brink of collapse.

RECYCLE or DIE is about giving you the power, and tools to fight climate change on a local and global scale. Here you will find protests, actions, and NGO’s that are pushing governments and corporations to change laws, enact drastic measures, and bring us down to zero emissions. You can also sign up for our newsletter, and get updates on how you can get involved.

This is how bad things are getting:

  • Earth Overshoot Day is an annual event when humanity's consumption outstrips Earth's production of resources. This annual event is getting earlier and earlier in the year. In 2000 it landed in October. In 2015, it was August 13. This year, it landed on August 2.
  • The world's superpowers – including China, the US, the UK, Germany and Japan – already use more than double the amount of resources they produce.
  • In Bangladesh, low-lying and vulnerable to yearly flooding, farmers are shifting from raising chickens to raising ducks. Ducks can swim.
  • The most conservative estimates suggest that raising livestock accounts for nearly 15 percent of global greenhouse gases emitted each year; the most comprehensive assessments of direct and indirect emissions say more than 50 percent
  • Illnesses spread by insects or arachnids like mosquitoes, fleas, mites, and ticks. As our climate becomes warmer, some insects will see their geographic ranges grow – bringing the Lyme disease and West Nile or Zika viruses they carry along with them to new regions.
